September marks the one-year anniversary of Helen Bleazard’s permanent spell as manager of AFC Bournemouth women’s side, with the rookie boss leading Cherries to a 9-0 victory over a young Southampton PGA side in the FA Women’s National League Cup.
Sunday’s game was not guaranteed at the start of the season. The changes being made at Dean Court have had to adhere to a very tight schedule, but fortunately enough progress was made for the women’s side to play during the first international break of the men’s season.
After the result, Bleazard spoke to Cherries On Top, the smile on her face showcasing her delight at another successful Dean Court outing.
