AFC Bournemouth vs AC Milan. No, this is not a glamour friendly in the same vein as welcoming Real Madrid to Dean Court. Cherries welcome one of Europe’s most storied teams, AC Milan, to Dorset in the third game of their Europa League campaign.
The famous red and black will be in action - donned by the home team, with the away side having to bring a change kit. It is no secret that AFC Bournemouth were inspired by the stripes of Milan, but the Italian giants have provided Cherries with further influences.
A lot of credit for sweeping away the sleepy image of Bournemouth is given to then manager John Bond and former-player-turned-commercial manager Dickie Dowsett, but a word of mention is deserved for chairman Harold Walker.
