As Cherries kick-off their Carabao Cup campaign with the visit of Championship Lincoln City this evening, fans of a certain vintage will have memories of one particular game coming to mind ever since the draw was made.

Back when the League Cup was the Worthington Cup and League Two was still in old money, Division Three, Cherries took on Lincoln City in Wales for a spot in the third tier.

90 minutes and seven goals later, Bournemouth proved victorious in Cardiff - a 5-2 victory that lives long in the memory of those that witnessed it.
