Marco Rose will have learned plenty about his squad during Tuesday night’s EFL Cup win over Lincoln City.

While Cherries coming out on top and progressing into round four by comfortably dispatching their Championship opponents was not unexpected, the game offered good insight into the readiness of a number of Rose’s players.

Across the first three Premier League games of the season, the German boss has started just 12 different players, showcasing already the early hierarchy he has in mind when it comes to team selection.

But Tuesday night saw Rose make eight alterations, with many getting their first meaningful match minutes of the season.
